Home to just over 4 million Australians, Queensland is Australia’s sunshine state and a popular holiday destinations with great facilities and so much to see and do, this thriving state has so many contrasts. The southern coastline is home to the Gold Coast which is Australia’s playground with sun, surf and high rise apartments including some of the world’s largest skyscrapers jammed packed with holidaymakers. The Gold coast is also home to Australia’s best theme parks. Heading north, Brisbane, the capital, is a cosmopolitan, bustling city on the banks of the Brisbane River. The Sunshine coast is further north, again sun, beach and holidays is all the go. Heading norther towards the tropics is Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Bundaberg rich in sugar cane farming and the entrance to the Great Barrier Reef and some of the world’s most magnificent rain forests. Inland and it’s not too far before you hit the real Australian outback and the Atherton Tablelands, where these barren lands are home to cattle farming and mining.
