The Gold Coast is linked to Brisbane by rail, bus and road (taking about an hour) An extensive bus service supports all the towns along the strip. Air services are at Coolangatta and Brisbane International Airport is about 80 minutes away.
The Gold Coast is home to more skyscrapers than any other Australian City, most consist of apartments and hotels. Work is underway in building what will be the highest tower in Australia, controversially being higher than the Eureka Tower on Melbourne’s South Bank.
Surfers Paradise is home to a V8 supercar race, which is held on the city streets each Summer. Much water based events like endurance-thons and surf carnivals are held right along the coast.
Jupiter’s Casino at Broad Beach is a popular entertainment complex and home to one of Australia’s largest gaming venues, complete with restaurants and a monorail which links the Broad Beach shopping precinct and the beach.
