Melbourne was home to the 2006 Commonwealth Games, which was the biggest sporting event in the world prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Melbourne is rich in culture and entertainment, with magnificent museums, theatres and concert halls. The city has one of the world’s largest Casino complexes, as well as several huge sporting arenas.
Built on the Yarra river but moving towards the bay side with the monstrous scale Docklands precinct development underway, Melbourne is one of the great cities of the world.
