The historic Salamanca Place, once the cities bustling sandstone cargo stores, dates back to the convict days and has been restored to house many fine hotels, restaurants and galleries. There is a fine selection of local produce including fine Trout, Cheese and some delightful Wines.

Hobart’s Wrest Point Casino is the highest building in Hobart and is Australia’s oldest casino dating back to the 1970s and is home to a wide selection of dining and entertainment experiences.

New Year’s Eve is Hobart’s largest event, when the Sydney to Hobart Yachting race finishes on the Derwent River. Thousands flock to the shores to greet the sailors and watercraft in a fun carnival atmosphere with food, drink and fun for all.
