Sydney to Hobart Yacht Classic
Constitution Dock is the finishing point to one of the world’s most gruelling open water yacht races. The annual Sydney to Hobart leaves Sydney Harbour on Boxing Day and heads down the east coast of Australia, finishing up the Derwent River in the final days of the year.
Tulip Festival
During September, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens in Hobart is home to the annual Tulip festival. The cooler Tasmanian climate is perfect growing conditions for these beautiful bulbs. There are huge plantings with a rainbow of colours.
Hobart Summer Festival
The waterfront is the place to be late December to mid-January, highlights include a New Year’s celebration, regatta, street theatre and a week-long food and wine extravaganza. The New Year’s Eve celebrations are one of the friendliest and most fun in the country.
The Royal Hobart Show
Held in late October, the show is a huge agricultural event featuring Tasmania’s best in farming, produce, agriculture and family fun.
The Targa Tasmania
The Targa Tasmania Rally is one of the Word’s most gruelling car rallies. Held inĀ April / May, from at Battery Point, an open it attracts an interesting array of fine automobiles being pushed to the limits on the narrow and curvy Tasmanian roads.
