Sciencentre

Sciencentre is located on Level 1 of Queensland Museum South Bank, offering hours of interactive, science-based fun for kids of all ages.

Three themed galleries make up the centre:  Body Zone- all about the human body, Earth Space and Action Stations.

Sciencentre is full hands on and is a great learning experience while having fun.

Special events are held school holidays and at weekends.

The Queensland Museum

The Queensland Museum offers a fantastic look into Queensland’s, cultural history, science and technology.

Just walking into the foyer of the museum is amazing, with overhead life-size whales suspended from the ceiling.

Visitors can discover dinosaurs, see the famous crocodiles or learn about what is Queensland, its people its land and its culture.

The museum is free (except for some special exhibitions) and can be found at Southbank, just a short walk from Victoria Bridge.

XXXX Ale House

Think of Queensland and you automatically think of the sun, beaches and XXXX, Yes XXXX Queensland’s favourite beer.

The Castlemaine Perkins brewery, located only minutes from Brisbane’s city centre, has a tour lasting approximately one hour which travels through the brewery’s 125+ year history.
There are interactive exhibitions and many colourful stories to hear

Learn how beer was brewed in the early days to the latest technologies used today to make this fresh amber fluid.

At the end of the tour, there is a chance to sample some of the lovely brews.

Visit the gift shop or the ‘Queensland’ bar to sample some more of the tasty stuff.

Southbank Parklands

What was home to the 1988 World Expo, Southbank has been transformed into a beautiful and lively playground for the people of Brisbane.

Featuring park lands, a large sandy lagoon and natural swimming area, restaurants, marketplaces, and entertainment areas, Southbank covers some 16 hectares.

Many of Brisbane’s cultural complexes are also alongside Southbank, including the Performing Arts Centre, Art Gallery and Museum of Queensland.

Treasury Casino

The old sandstone Treasury Building has been restored and now is home to Brisbane’s Casino. Although not as big as Jupiter’s or the Casino’s from the southern states, Crown or Star City, The Treasury offers a more sedate quieter environment.

With all the games you expect to find in a world-class casino, bars, restaurants, the Treasury is the perfect place for a night on the town.
