Kings Park Wildflower Festival
Western Australia is known for its beautiful wild flowers which grow in some of the world’s more barren areas. This magnificent showcase is held in Perth’s Kings Park, late September, early October.
The Festival of Perth
Held around February & March each year, the festival is known as a cultural smorgasbord of both national and international talent. Featuring a wide spectrum of the arts including theatre, music, dance, film and visual arts. The Festival of Perth is known as the oldest annual international arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Avon Descent
Held in February, the Avon Decent has been run for over 30 years and is a challenge of the Avon and Swan Rivers in a variety of paddle and power craft in an exciting two-day time trial over 133 gruelling kilometres offering participants conditions ranging from long stretches of flat water through to white water rapids, sure to test the skills of all who attempt to navigate their contours.
Perth Cup
Western Australia’s premier horse race is the Perth Cup and is held on New Year’s Day each year. Party revellers bounce back from their New Year’s Eve celebrations to make the Perth Cup one of the largest social events on Perth’s calendar
The Fairbridge Festival
Held mid-April at Fairbridge Village, Pinjarra, this annual festival is a fun filled celebration of folk, roots, blues, acoustic, Celtic, a cappella and world music in a bushland setting south of Perth, Western Australia.
